Boiling Point: Above 1600°C.

Solubility: Highly soluble in water with significant heat release; aqueous solution is neutral or slightly alkaline. Soluble in alcohol, insoluble in ether.

Hygroscopicity: Strongly hygroscopic; readily absorbs moisture from air and deliquesces.

Chemical Industry: Used in manufacturing antifreeze, refrigerants, fire extinguishing agents, adhesives, and for extracting metallic calcium.

Rubber Industry: Acts as a coagulant.

Starch Industry: Serves as a sizing agent for mixed starch pastes.
